Introducing the Kujus – A Quick Review

Five siblings with lingering resentment for one another, they have not seen themselves in years and one particular sibling decides to bring them all together for their mother’s 5th memorial service by hook or by crook.

At the beginning, I was not too sure what to expect, the running around was just scattered and exaggerated and I was just wondering “Warris going on” but things settled down nicely and I actually enjoyed it.

Storyline is believable and relatable, anyone who has siblings can totally relate. Siblings are quick to say hurtful things, keep grudges but also very quick to let go and hug it out. It was really sweet to watch.

Casting and acting was really good and the actors did well, they all complimented one another. They behaved like actual siblings because every family has the spoilt last born, the over bearing first born, the mediator and the Margaret Thatcher. Although I must say the child actors cannot act, don’t know where they got them from, especially the boy.

Plot development was coherent, the setting was good. It was nice seeing some of Badagry’s historic sites.

Nostalgia is a powerful tool and I must say this movie wielded this tool to their advantage, you’ll just find yourself smiling and missing your siblings.

It is a feel good movie and a really nice way to wrap up the holiday.
