A white Journalist goes undercover at a Nigerian restaurant in order to expose illegal immigrants, but she finds love in the process.
The storyline was not properly thought out. Too many unnecessary scenes, quality of production was not great either, the movie just screamed “low budget production”.
Acting and casting was another fail. In the bid to compensate for the lack of an interesting plot, we saw a parade of some of Nollywood’s big wigs like Bukky wright, Uche Jombo, Joseph Benjamin and Femi Adebayo. Unfortunately, these talented actors did not have much to work with and as such, even their presence could not salvage this concoction rice disguising as special Jollof.
Then all the white people in this movie ehn, they just could not act, including the lead actress!!!
Finding Love was supposed to be the highlight of this movie, but there was no chemistry between Joseph Benjamin (the lead male) and the lead actress. There were no interactions to justify the connection or romance between them, they practically shoved a non existent love story down our throats.
I would have liked to see more about the immigration struggles faced by Nigerians living in the Diaspora but there was nothing. Why and how did Rachael choose that particular Nigerian restaurant? What was the correlation between the chieftaincy tittle controversy in Nigeria and the entire plot? Everything was just scattered till the very end.
In summary, lazy production, poor casting, watery acting, a total waste of time and data. There was nothing special about this Jollof, all the necessary spices were missing.
