The Beecroft family is ready to spend their inheritance but there is a new obstacle. A new daughter has appeared, she is the CEO of Beecroft industries and the majority shareholder.
Absurd. That is the best way to describe this movie, there was no storyline, a woman suddenly appears and the next thing they are in a meeting where she announces to them that she is the majority shareholder in Chief daddy’s company and as such will deny them of what had been willed to them. When and how did she become CEO and majority shareholder? Why was she not called when Chief Daddy died?
From that point on, things progressed from bad to worse. The trip to Dubai, the family scandal, the 3 way romance between Tinu, Teni and Sony, the relationship between Damilare and Ada, everything did not make any sense.
Ebony life probably thinks we are illiterates and that is why they don’t even bother to do the barest minimum. The least they could do was actually do a little research to show the logical process on how someone becomes the majority shareholder in a company, how about the other board members? Why was the company’s expansion effort affecting the personal will of the deceased MD? How come the family lawyer was unaware that there was a new majority shareholder? I’m sure they don’t have answers to these questions because they did not think it was important to put in that much thought. The people responsible for this script should go back for a crash course in script writing, this is an embarrassment.

Chief Daddy part 1 was not nice, this sequel unfortunately even falls short of the low standard set by part 1.
Let’s talk about acting and casting. So many A list actors and actresses were involved in this movie but the only real question in my mind is what were they thinking? People like Funke Akindele, Kate Henshaw, Shaffy Bello, Beverly Naya, how did they feel being a part of this mediocre production? Did they laugh while reading their lines? Ini Edo had just about 3 lines, Funke and Kate were so aggressive, they were just screaming. This movie squandered its talented cast on a plot that should have been an Instagram skit.
One major thing about movie sequels is that the character tone most remain consistent. We saw instances where the personality of a character was different from what it was in part 1. For example, Ireti (played by Zainab Balogun) was a timid, nice and peace loving psychologist in part 1 but in part 2 she is a mean and vindictive YouTuber who records her family members and posts dirty secrets about the family on her YouTube page. Nike (played by Shaffy Bello) was a fashion designer in part 1 but in part 2 she is Tinu and Teni’s business partner. How???
Special accolades to Falz, his accent did not change and he was consistent with pushing the silly persona that had been created for him.
What exactly was Broda shaggi doing in this movie? Why did they waste so much money on a Dubai trip that was useless to the story???? There were so many unnecessary scenes, Shaggi and his girlfriend , the talent show and the club scene to mention a few. So if Mawuli had so much money, why were they struggling? Sony (played by Uzor Arukwe) only acted in the capacity of a PA one time, in the other scenes he was in a love triangle with Tinu and Teni, how come he could afford to give them all the expensive things they asked for? He is just a PA now?! The final part with the wedding ceremony was the final straw, I totally cringed.
Editing and transitioning was so bad (every time they moved to another scene, you would hear a click sound).
I did not understand the press conference, I did not understand Damilare’s injury because it does not make sense that a world class footballer will get injured and that’s how they will diagnose and try to treat the damage. They totally spoilt the romance between Dami (played by Mawuli) and Ada (played by Beverly Naya). Beverly looked so unhappy and tired, she wore the same ugly wig all through this movie even on her wedding day😭. See I can go on and on because everything was wrong with this movie.
Don’t watch this alleged comedy looking for more than pained performances. One thing I can guarantee is that you will feel very angry watching this movie because you will definitely be wasting 1 hour and 53mins of your life you will never be able to get back.
It is impossible to recommend this movie on any level, it’s not funny neither is it entertaining, the flaws are too obvious to overlook. Ebony life studio is plummeting to agonizing low depths as can be seen by their utter disregard for originality and coherence.
Chief Daddy part 2 doesn’t scrape the bottom of the cinematic barrel, this movie is the bottom of the barrel.
P.S: How does Netflix approve these movies????!!
